The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing May 14 to discuss a host of issues relating to 5G technology, including intellectual property and national security concerns. 5G is the newest generation of wireless technology that offers faster, more reliable service to mobile internet users. Lawmakers appeared particularly concerned about the role Chinese companies are playing in the development and distribution of 5G and whether it could be used to for malicious purposes.
