Please do an analysis of Princess Carolynn. Easily one of the best characters in this show.

She’s the worst

Diane gets way too much hate from idiots who just don't understand her character.

To add to the discussion in the comments I feel like every character in Bojack horseman is very well developed. Except for the odd few like Kelsey Jannings. Diane is the backbone of the show imo.

In my first watch, Diane ended up being my least favorite character. Out of all the mistakes all the characters make, her decisions bothered me the most. On my second watch I realize that it’s because I think I relate to her the most. The reason it bothered me so much every time she made a bad decision or said something she shouldn’t or was too idealistic is because is a part of me knew that that’s exactly what I would have done too. Maybe that’s why she’s so over hated. She’s just that relatable.

None of the characters in the series are perfect I think that the point of all the characters are that even through they are cartoon animals they are actually very human like in the way they act. Diane feels a need to change the world and want to make a difference, but when she trys to she realises she has put too much onto herself and she cannot. Mr Penutbutter is happy all the time which is good but it means that he hides his true feeling, and never faces the realitys of life. Boujacks flaws are shown more obviously. A similar pattern continues with most of the other main characters. I feel Diane is no worse than any of the other characters, she is more human like, as humans we often try to take on things that are too much for us andmake kmistakes, the point is she realises she has made these mistakes and gets help which is what I admire about her, I don't think she is any worse than us as people. I don't think you could class her as a horrible person just for making mistakes.

“I can’t believe this country hates women more than it loves guns” so true

I relate to Diane a lot and this makes me really depressed especially since I’m going through the point that I want to make a difference and I feel empty inside where I am in this point of my life. Also my man is like Mr. Peanut Butter who seems happy and positive often but when faced with the reality he is very defensive. Also sometimes my passion and beliefs bothers him. He wants to live in his simple ignorant reality and I don’t want that. I also relate to Bojak suffering through trauma from my past and dealing with depression except I don’t do drugs but a lot of times I don’t eat right. I also try to escape rather if is through nostalgia , work, or engulfing myself into my passions.

About people saying Diane is the worst out of them all.I understand but Boujack nearly having sex with a young girl, and running all those womans lives as well as physically assaulting a woman, is far worse than any of the thing Diane did. I feel she always trys to stick with what is morally right, but struggles and ends up being hypocritical, and not being able to decide her point of view which is her flaw. As well as encouraging Mr Penutbutter to cheat on his wife. She has her own flaws, but although her and Boujack seem like similar characters I feel that they are actually very diffrent and cannot be compared. I feel she trys to please people a lot, and wants to make a difference, but gets lost and doesn't know how to. She also struggles to look at life positively resulting in her and Mr penutbutter breacking up, as feels bad that her mood is effecting others. She strives to make people happy. She has flaws and so does boujack but I feel they are very diffrent. She may be boring, but sometimes she is used as the voice of sence, to show she cannot deal or take in all the bad things going on around her, and finds them confusing, and can't belive that no one else can see this.

I love diane but I personally wouldn't label her as a diehard feminist. Shes just a woman who stands up for what's right. Next to bojack she may be one of the most complicated characters on Bojack Horseman
Mrs. Arthur Morgan
I hate Diane so much. She's literally the worst thing about Bojack Horseman, the only thing I dislike in my favorite Netflix show. She's a hypocrite wrapped in an annoying p.o.s. I tolerate Diane in a show I otherwise enjoy. She's not the show's soul, Todd is. Diane is the show's Lego your foot steps on.

I think you're trying to see her more positive then she is actually depicted. All the characters are a parody of a type of person and Diane being the millennial that's constantly changing, isn't growth. She "says" she's a good person but consistently does worse things. My view is that the show is making fun of us millennials on our inconsistencies, phases, and being easily swayed by popular politics. Diane isn't a good person, if she is the main demographic, then that says a lot about the demographic of the show.

Wait, you can pronounce it "paithaus"? I always thought it was "pathos".

It is pretty normal for Diane to pass through such periods of time. There are two things which make it all difficult. The change, and the identifications the Diane has. One strong identification was the Gun control, which after she tried she felt like a traitor to her current self. The stronger the identification bigger the conflict within her self when the change is required.
