She changes so much from one moment to the next? Not really. I feel like you don't understand her character really. Like you backed this up by showing the clip of Mr. Peanutbutter and how he made a room for her; I think to anybody who watched the show they got that he misunderstood her. Another poor video.

Diane is the embodiment of the show, pretentious, hypocritical and ultimately preachy

Thank you for making this video ❤️

This is one of the best commentaries of a fictional story that I've ever heard or read. I always related to Diane more than any other character in the show. She is basically the eyes through which I see the show, even though her mindset and her political views are so different from mine, and even though her self-righteousness and hypocrisy are so unattractive to me. I never understood why I related so much to her.

But now I understand. She sees every issue from every angle. She unrelentingly pursues the truth, and she's not content with an oversimplified answer to any question. She's not willing to believe something simply because believing it is convenient or even productive. As a result, she suffers from analysis paralysis. And that's really what I can relate to. I can relate to her being overwhelmed by information from all sides and being unable to reach a quick and easy conclusion. I can relate to her being driven by an innate sense of what's right, only to have that sense questioned and changing at all times.

Thank you for opening my eyes to why the sad horse show affects me so much. And also why it gets better with every new viewing.

5:05 I will point out that it's kind of implied that Mr. Peanutbutter struggles or at least has struggled with self-doubt in some form, he just doesn't let it affect him. There's a couple of moments where he shows flashes of insecurity, immediately doubting what he says, and then going right back to his normal, optimistic self. It's not a very good example, but the first one that comes to mind is when he's talking to Diane for the first time on set, he says a joke and when she laughs, he says "I'm REALLY glad you laughed at that because I don't know what I would've done if that one failed..." there's a lot of other moments like this, and he also gets really cynical talking to Diane when he finds out his brother is sick.

I Hate Diane’s Character, Mostly, But I Love Her As Well.

I know it's wrong, but a part of me still wants Diane and Bojack to be together by the end of this show
Double-B
she probably should learn to code in season 6

my name also sounds like Diane but in a different spelling, also an asian, bonus I also wear an eyeglass...I feel her character so much, I look at different sides of what truth is, reason why im so indecisive but friends loves me bec of the support and love I give to them. The only thing is that im afraid to stand on my own opinion publicly.

I want to know her more and her name suits her so much. haha

The hate Diane gets its because people reflect themselves in her. And cant handle it.

Please make videos about Princess Carolyn, Todd and Mr Peanutbutter

This video was so awesome because I feel a lot like Diane. Uncertain but also willing to see the truth in many sides.

Diane is a textbook hypocrite with Narcissistic personality disorder - who surrounds herself with people she can feel superior to so she can constantly bring them down to make herself feel better about her own inadequacies and hypocrisy.
She thinks Mr. PB is dumb, and that Bojack is shallow, and Todd is unmotivated. She constantly ignores and forgets about her friend Tracy. She makes a scene in the public eye whenever the attention is not on her, devaluing the real issue at hand, and making it about the fact that she is right and everyone else is wrong - and making sure others are aware of that.
When she finally has the opportunity to make a difference, she returns within a week to mooch off of and take advantage of her best friend, while lying to her husband and other friends about her where-abouts so they can believe she's still out making a difference - all the while sitting around watching tv and eating junk food. She then works for a vapid magazine and as a social media correspondent for celebrities while living off her husband's wealth and home.
So if Diane is people's symbol of "the soul" of the show and a "die-hard feminist" it's no wonder the country is in such disarray and has reverted back to such an archiach and patriarchal state. Because when any issue wasn't revolved around Diane and her agenda - Like when Todd had just come from a war torn society and so many lives were lost and in suffering - Diane says "Nobody cares [Todd]."

I don't know who writes these and comes up with the ideas for these videos, but Diane most certainly does not embody the values of the show and it's creators. Please do your research, take a class in abnormal psychology, do something, because this drivel makes you sound completely uneducated and is spreading to those who read it because of the soft tone of voice used in the videos.

ugh i hate diane 😒
I am
I think last season was the worst for Diane, I used to identify as her a lot.
In the last season, she doesn't really care about her actions, she and Mr. Peanutbutter cheat on his new girlfriend, she puts the "Penny scene" out in the world on a tv show, and that moment right there was the lowest one for me. She didn't care about the girl, she didn't care about the truth, she was angry at Bojack and she wanted to hurt him. That was all. She didn't do anything good or something correct by exposing a traumatizing scene for penny out in the world, where she could see it and relive it and feel even worse about it. She didn't confronted Bojack for what he did or what he could have done, in order for him to change. Indeed she just led him know she knew in the lowest possible way.
And then she behaved so impulsive, and with so much hate against everything. When literally she was making awful decisions herself.
I do love her as a character! Last season was just so bad for me to watch because of her "evolution", I still loved the season, I just think that it made me change my mind and go from "I love Diane I think I'm just like her" to "Diane is the most selfish character in the series (yes even more than Bojack) and she thinks she is correct and that her morals are at least something she would never betray but she actually doesn't really care she just wants to feel good with herself."

It is fine if Diane is either loved, liked, disliked, or even hated. Everyone has the right to decide and feel what makes each one feel better.

She is not perfect, she has flaws like everyone else in the show, and there are moments where you can identity with her (like in the episode when she was in Vietnam, when she writes her articles in Girl Croosh or she is the voice of reason or empathy), and moments where she makes things worse even though she doesn't want to (participating in Mr Peanutbutter's cheating and Bojack's relapse), and even though she is the voice of reason most of the time, there are moments where she can be selfish, arrogant and impose her own point of view. Also she is someone who can't be happy even if she gets what she wants (a flaw which we can identify with).

In my own opinion, she has been a pivotal character, in both positive and negative senses, whether she likes it or not. When she has appeared in someone's life, that someone can't be the same as before, the skeletons start to get out of the closet, the person has to face the music or things get worse, and even if the person wants to deal with the problem, that doesn't mean that things will get better.

Bojack and Mr Peanutbutter are not the same like in the beginning of the series, and even though they want to return to how they were or make things better, they can't anymore because Diane appeared in their lives and made them change even though no one, not even her, noticed.

Okay, kind of off topic, but... do men really tell women in the US to "smile"? I was never told that in my life here in Europe.
