Whether it’s building bridges across rivers or solving puzzles, spiders are way cooler than you might think. Many have smart or elaborate features that allow them to do some pretty extraordinary things!

They may be awe-inspiring, but I'm definitely not saying "awe"

Portia! The portia jumping spider is really interesting.
Nathan Lang
spider man, spider man
does whatever a spider can
climb a wall, spin a web
catching thieves, just like flies
look out, here comes the spiderman!
Anira Pixel
for the first time she seems like she got some rest and a shower, she isn't gross looking today and she isn't growling the last syllable of every sentence. it's nice!

anyway I kinda want a collection of spiders now
holysmokes44
Everybody's gangster until the spider starts walking.

One frustrating thing I've always had with SciShow videos is when you guys talk about really cool stuff, you don't use proper media to show the cool stuff you're talking about! Yeah you got some cool pictures, but a short video demonstrating some of the things you talk about would be really awesome. I was expecting to see the spitting spider in action, but was disappointed to just see a couple of pictures of what it looked like. If you're going to talk about a cool thing that a creature does, at least show the creature doing the cool thing!!
Coca Cola
*Spiders here in texas actually prefer to be outside at day. but once the sun goes down its like locking up for the purge*

Pelican Spiders are both fascinating and horrifying.
Vivian Cheung
I love jumping spiders.
Valkyrja
Is it just me, or does the Pelican Spider vaguely look like our Lord and Savior Cthulhu in the illustration? Just me? Okay.
Alice Ignis
Spiders run away from you? Sorry, no! Not in my case! They almost alway run *towards* me! As if they know I have phobia O.o

Already have super strong synthetic/organic spider silk:

7:38 Jumping spiders are the smartest insects. They've been known to mimic human behaviour too.

I love animals and know a lot of them, but the pelican spider is a new one for me! What a freaky creature :)
Jarrad Dennis
Her voice. Is. So. Annoying.

I’m just realizing that the beginning of the Sci-Show opening sounds like the beginning of You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid by The Offspring... two very different things....
Rihan Al Biruni
In the light of the longevity of spiders, I think the very low production of free radicals is a cause.
But also that, like the LOBSTER, they have kept the polymerase gene, which is a way to protect the cells from aging.
If this last point interests you, I work on it. Join me
