Happy Medical Monday (which isn’t every Monday, and sometimes isn’t on Monday, but I try my best) 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️🚑
PS Why do people in these videos have 2 letter initials for names? It’s a didactic tradition in presenting case reports. It lightly de-identifies the patient while upholding their humanity. They are, and will always be, more than just “the patient.” Thanks for watching :)
Why would she go to an emergency room? She was suffering for months. Why not go to a doctor?

When you mentioned that they now wear two gloves, my immediate thought was just..
"Due to the recent unfortunate happenings, we have strenghtened our safety procedures regarding handling organic Mercury. What can be stronger than a pair of gloves...?
* gasp *
*TWO pairs of gloves* "
Aku Aki
Karen latex gloves don’t keep you safe from everything
so thisnt the metal mercury this a compound they extract from it? correct?

360mg of Mercury from 2 drops? I find that hard to believe, it must have sat on her skin for a significant period of time to get 0.4g into he skin.
I thought he was about to rap at the beginning
Kimchhun Poeng
I thought she became a Super Woman after those 2 drops
Lol 😂
Assuming you were aware that you have just been exposed to dimethylmercury would there be anything you can do at that point? I can think of some extremes depending on exposure location (like lopping off the hand if exposed there), but are there any better, likely more medically valid, measures to take?

I have never absorbed so much information. This is like a buffet for science.

These cases are patients who I, or my colleagues have seen. They are de-identified and many instances have been presented in more depth in an academic setting. These videos are not individual medical advice and are for general educational purposes only. I do not give medical advice over the internet, see your own physician in person for that.
