Hello, do you have a video about finding drinking water on the beach? They say that the freshwater ground table can be found under the first sand dune ridge, but my experiments suggest its not always true...

way better than my teacher, thanks

The word is 'progradation'.

Due to the wind noise on this video, I have now added subtitles that I hope viewers will find helpful.

If you like, have a look at the Wadden Islands north of the Netherlands; artificial for the most part, 'grass' fences are used to trigger sand deposition

Great video, this should help with my AS course. However, at the start, you also need longshore drift too for a dune to form. Good video overall, thumbs up.

@noyoumaynoteatmyhair I'm so glad the video is of you to you in your studies, and you're right that some hind dunes can be called yellow dunes, but some may also be called 'grey dunes'. The colour is affected by time without new sand deposition and vegetation has a role too.

This video shows how Rijkswaterstaat uses sand to keep the Dutch coast safely in its place. In this way the Netherlands is protected against the sea. More information: https://www.rijkswaterstaat.nl/english
