When I hear Renault, I think of those light tanks the French used in WW1. Looked a bit like a duck to me. In Battlefield 1, that's the light tank you can useby the way.

Alpine was an independent manufacturer which used Renault engines that is all. Officially the cars raced as Alpines, not Renaults, when they won the 1973 manufacturers cup for rally cars. Following a serious strike and the risk of closing down Alpine, Renault stepped in an bought most of the shares of the company. It remained an independent brand, which Renault decided to put Renault badges on eventually.
