YUAN's design mirrors that of a Siheyuan, a traditional Chinese house, offering an authentic experience, balanced with contemporary touches. Guests can enjoy their meal while sat in the Oriental Inner Courtyard, designed using Chinese elements of harmony and balance. The Principal House meanwhile, is the perfect setting for sharing Chef Tan's signature dishes, with its warm hues and scenes of nature offering an atmosphere reminiscent of the dining halls built for Chinese nobility.
The restaurant menu offers a range of mouth-watering Cantonese and Szechuan dishes drawing on regional traditions, blended seamlessly with contemporary Western twists, and made using high-quality fresh ingredients. Guests can choose from dishes including YUAN's spin on Chinese classics sweet 'n' sour chicken and dim sum; an exceptional range of oriental barbeque specialities, from Peking duck to 26 hour braised beef cheek; and seafood choices including Chilean sea bass fillet and Alaskan king crab.
After satisfying their appetite with YUAN's delicious menu, guests can retire to the bar to listen to mixes from YUAN's in-house DJs, and sample innovative cocktails blending traditional Chinese ingredients with top shelf spirits. As well as enjoying a drink in the chic bar setting, guests can also take part in a traditional tea ceremony, prepared by Dubai's first Kung Fu tea master, and enjoy the flavours and aromas of specially handcrafted teas brought from the country's different regions.
Serge Zaalof, president and managing director at Atlantis, The Palm, said: "The concept behind YUAN is to provide our guests with a traditional Chinese experience in a vibrant and gorgeous setting, but also include surprising touches that you've never seen in this region. We wanted everything about YUAN to be stimulating and totally unexpected introducing a much needed intimate and stylish locale for a night out.
