Homecoming Sailors of USS Carl Vinson Sailors' perspective of homecoming 2 days ago   02:33

The Navy aircraft carrier responsible for burying the body of Osama bin Laden at sea docked Wednesday morning at Naval Base Coronado, ending a 198-day deployment. The 5,500 sailors and air wing personnel aboard the USS Carl Vinson were told to keep quiet about the bin Laden mission, but they and their families expressed pride for their role in history. Hundreds waited to embrace their loved ones and some new mothers introduced their husbands to their babies for the first time as live music played in the background at the homecoming celebration.

Awesome! I've been out there many times to welcome my dad home...such an awesome event when they all come home! Thanks to all those who served, and that includes the families left here to support from a distance. God bless you all!
I am a US Navy vet now in Santiago, Chile. I am proud of you ...ALL OF YOU! I miss my United States of America.

I served on USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) twice. 1989-1993 and 2005-2009 and did alot of homecomings and deployments on her. Best feeling in the world to come home after losing so much blood sweat and tears out there. Good video!
