Norman inheritance law gives all the land to the first son. The younger sons used the Crusades as an opportunity to establish new kingdoms in the areas they conquered.

They followed the Law because their origins are Hebraic.
at 3:52 Dr. Neiman talks about the church making it's rulings based upon the law (the Torah).  This is as it should be because Jehovah GOD's laws, statutes and commandments are eternal.  Christianity follows the way of Jesus, and listen to what Jesus said:

Matthew 5:17-18 - "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, *Till heaven and earth pass*, *one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law*, *till all be fulfilled*."

Has "heaven and earth" passed yet?  Obviously not, which means all things have not yet been fulfilled.  Therefore, not one jot or one tittle has passed from the law.  Jot's and tittle's are the little accent marks used when writing.  Jesus is saying even the smallest characters in the Torah (a dot on the letter i, or an apostrophe, etc) are still in effect until heaven and earth pass away.

To confirm that "The Law" means the Torah check the manuscript:

The Law = Strong's Greek Concordance #3551. nomos

nomos: that which is assigned, hence usage, law
Original Word: νόμος, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: nomos
Phonetic Spelling: (nom'-os)
Short Definition: a law, the *Mosaic Law*
Definition: usage, custom, law; in NT: of law in general, plur: of divine laws; of a force or influence impelling to action; *of the Mosaic law*; meton: of *the books which contain the law*, *the Pentateuch*, the Old Testament scriptures in general.

Thus, even a child can understand the simplicity in which Christ taught.  All of Jehovah GOD's sacred commandments found in the Torah (which is the first five scrolls of the bible, referred to as the Pentateuch, or the Mosaic law) remain in effect until the end of time.

The Christian organizations which teach all Mosaic Law were done away with are in error.

The 1074 a conflict called “Investiture Controversy” erupted. The Emperor and the Pope argued over who had the right to appoint or “vest” the Bishops. Pope Gregory VII excommunicated the Emperor Henry IV. Henry the IV was forced to apologize to the Pope, thus demonstrating the supremacy of the Pope in the Western world.
