Review bombs aren't ideal, but I get why they happen, and in many cases, if publishers and devs were better at listening and communicating, they could be mitigated. I don't disagree with Chet Faliszek.

Honestly you're being pretty naive saying that you think it's a good balance. The anti-'review-bomb' setting is set to on by default and most people will not bother to change it, most people won't even know such option exists, and so the default is a doctored review score by Valve, usually in favour of games by companies that sold out to the Chinese crap store. It's anticompetitive for Valve to be defending it's so-called rival and we shouldn't be encouraging it. I'd argue reviews that are judging the company behind the game more than the game itself, still matter a lot, especially in games that are regularly maintained. I wouldn't want to invest 1000 hours into a game just to have the company decide to nuke it on a whim. I've already had that happen to me twice, and I left bad reviews for those games for good reason.

Ohhhh no no no no. The only thing a narcissist wants is for people to agree with them, regardless of rhyme or reason. Organized chaos meant to undermine the logic and sanity of genuine individuals. There is no true logical level of compromise or pleasing a man like him. If ever a moment given by a narcissist to believe otherwise... it is nothing but an act, like a sociopath pretending to care about someone else's emotions.
I wish more people understood the character profile of "the narcissist" on a psychological or social psychological level.

Review bombing is a consumer right. If you are free to sell shit, customers are free to tell you it stinks. That is fair. That is a balanced system. Epic and companies that support their "companies first; fuck customers" are anti-consumer companies and should get what they deserve.

The gaming industry has turned into a cash grabbing shitshow. It's time to find another hobby.

Just let users review the publishers on Steam.

These companies and developers don't like us reviewing their stuff? They want to be anti consumer? We'll fucking tear them down. We *OWN* them. WITHOUT *US* they would be nothing. We are the ones who put money in their wallets, who put food on their tables, who give them a place to live, and a bed to sleep on. They don't treat us right, and we will snap them back to reality. "The customer is always right", is a saying that smart people listen to. If these developers and companies think they are untouchable, newsflash, they aren't. If we all don't like what they have said, done, or are making, we'll make them lose money, lose reputation, and then fade into obscurity. We'll stop buying from them. If they don't get how this system works, supply and demand, then they shouldn't be making games, or any products.

remove review yeah, we will just get Youtubers and journalist to voice our displeasure and share it, you are avoiding the problem not fixing it

I love how Steam even lets us decide whether we want to see those reviews or not. They know it is all about choice. I'm sure had they just removed the "off topic" reviews entirely, people would have gotten upset. They get it. Epic just needs to learn that at least in the PC space, it is ALL about freedom of choice.

Uuuuhhhhm so you're all for censorship? K then
The Reprehensible
>Games company does something scummy, greedy and/or blatantly anti-consumer...

>Consumer uses their one effective option for communicating their displeasure to negatively impact the company's products...

>Company gets mad at being treated unfairly.

Valve are a bunch of lazy assholes run by a lazy Fatman who cannot even count to three. We will never see Half life 3

I will start a crowdfunding campaign to hire snipers on Randy pitchford's head

Aggressive reviews do get Devs and publishers or whatever to turn their heads and see what's up..... "shout loud enough and someone might come listen and see what's up."
zadose
Reviews are meant to help you... even harsh ones....
Now I like how they filter out but STILL SHOW weird irrelevant review bombs.... it's not censoring, but it's making sure it takes in REAL reviews.
Svetlana Rodriguez
I'll buy Borderlands 3 on the Xbox One and wait for it to come to Steam. I won't pre- purchase it and will wait for reviews. I won't buy it on Epic. I won't give those bastards not one fucking dime. Just be patient and wait for it to come to Steam.

It's called a protest, friends.

The fact that the only thing that they’re bothered about is the review bombs and not what caused the review bombs...

..is the real reason why they SHOULD be review bombed.

If the only thing they cared about is getting good reviews, just like respect they should earn it.

Do they really think players are so stupid to not even notice review bombs.

In this age, we can spot fakes a mile away. How? Because we read and understand them.

*Gets review bombs*
*Cries on Twitter*

Smh. So much EGO.
Michael Farley
Easiest way to get rid of review bombing? Make good quality games again! Stop making half a game, selling it at full price, and promising the rest of the game is coming only to then either not deliver or sell the rest of the game to us consumers even though they already paid full price.
