In the field with Simon Haslett, Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Wales. June 2012 has been an exceptionally wet month in Wales and the United Kingdom. Professor Haslett discusses his research in the Olway and Usk Valleys of Monmouthshire in South Wales in relation to recent flooding. His blog post (http://tinyurl.com/7p5vvcf) and a recent article in the Western Mail newspaper (http://tinyurl.com/6o8l6sy) explains the background to this research, which was published by the Geological Society of America in 2011.
